A Very Special Month: April

April 11th marked our first anniversary.  Just days earlier, Caleb surprised me with an overnight stay in Antigua (a perk of living in Guatemala). It was so special, and even more so having Hadassah with us. She couldn't be a better symbol of the love we share.

On the actual day of our anniversary I surprised Caleb with a picnic-style candlelit dinner and we renewed our wedding vows to each other to freshly remind us of what we have committed to for life. It was a romantic evening together. That weekend sparked many more days of refreshed romance for us.

Christ has blessed us abundantly with each other and to say that we look forward to another year of marriage is an understatement.
We have learned and are still learning that true love is much more than butterflies and fast beating hearts. Love is...

"... patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends." ~ 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

It is an honor and privilege to choose to love each other every day. Is it always easy? The majority of the time yes, but no, not always. Sometimes trust is broken and needs to be rebuilt, but like my dad stated on our wedding day, "Your vows don't mean anything until they are tested".  As life sometimes brings those tests, I can't imagine walking through them with anyone else.

This month also brought Hadassah's one month birthday! I can't believe how much she is changing already. She is such a good baby. We have been very blessed that she takes great naps, likes being in the car and only wakes one or two times to feed in the night.
She is beginning to smile a lot more and making little talking noises. She also likes her bath better than she used to and takes a pacifier now as well, although she likes mommy the pacifier best ;)

1 day old
1 month old!
Caleb  had the opportunity to help translate for a team that came to work with our church here a few weeks ago and this past weekend we had the privilege to go with our pastor, Jose, and some others to facilitate a church service in Jose's in-law's home. It was quite the bumpy, dusty ride up a mountain with some fun people!

Jose's desire is to build a church building in that village soon because there are hardly any Evangelical churches in that area. Your prayers for God's provision, guidance and wisdom for that project would be appreciated.

Blessings to you all! Hope you enjoyed the little update. More to come soon!
